Bengaluru, August 10: "The padayatra being undertaken by the BJP-JDS against the Bidadi Town Ship project does not have any farmers. They are fighting for the political future of their son (Nikhil Kumaraswamy)" said Chief Minister DK Shivakumar.
In Malur on Monday, Shivakumar responded to questions from the media.
When it was mentioned that Deve Gowda was participating in the padayatra against the Bidadi Town Ship project, "They have brought party workers from other constituencies and are undertaking the padayatra. Protest and agitation are their right in a democracy. I am not saying no to that" he said.
"The plan they had made, we have taken it forward. They had said they would give a compensation of Rs 25 lakh. We are giving a compensation of Rs 2.50 crore to Rs 3 crore" he explained.
They themselves had signed for the NICE and Bidadi Town Ship projects
When asked about the allegation made by Kumaraswamy that the NICE and Bidadi projects were similar, "They themselves had signed for the projects. Who made the NICE project? They had made it. But it has been useful. Bengaluru has survived because of the road. What they did was not wrong. But it had their self-interest. All that will be spoken about when the time comes" he responded.
Portfolio allocation soon
When asked about the portfolio allocation for the ministers, "I had discussed the portfolio allocation for the ministers with the senior leaders in Delhi on Saturday evening. It is likely to be resolved by this evening" he said.
